Century Eggs I believe most of you has saw this egg, on in internet or somewhere- at least once in your life. As you may see, it looks bizarre, and the colors are weird looking-translucent black. If you are Asian and into chinese foods, it usually came as toppings for porridge. Century eggs are made of fermented duck/chicken eggs, people burry the eggs inside a rice hulls, clay, ashes, salt, and others herbs. And then they leave it for weeks until months till it changes color. They white parts then becomes black, translucent, jelly like... and the yellow parts turn grayish. So yeah, that's basically the origin of the name, "century eggs", because they look like they're 100 years old. You know when people sometimes complain about leaving the food for too long and it turn brownish, grayish, ugly? That basically is. Despite the look, it doesn't taste that bad (?)
